Born in Riverside, California, Troy Sharp had no amateur skating career to speak of. Tall, blonde and handsome, he was just was talent scouts were looking for when he auditioned as a chorus skater for the Ice Capades. After touring for years, he performed as a dancer in the Lido de Paris shows. He passed away on April 2, 1995 at the age of thirty-nine.

Troy's obituary": "Troy Albert Sharp, 39, died Sunday, April 2, 1995 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nev. He was born July 15, 1955, in Riverside. He had lived in Reno, Nev. for seven years, coming from Paris, France. He had worked as a realtor for Myers and Nueffer Realtors. He was a member of the Board of Realtors, a professional dancer for Lido de Paris in Paris and was a member of the Ice Capades and entertained all over the world. He is survived by his father, William T. Sharp from Thousand Oaks; Raeleen Sharp of Sacramento; longtime friend and companion, Steven Avemaria of Reno, Nev.; brothers, Martin Sharp of Riverside, James Orvis of Woodland Hills and Toby Sharp of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Maureen Gongoles of Riverside, Rea Sharp of Studio City, Denise Orvis of Santa Monica and Renee Schaffer of Sacramento."
