Want to learn more about figure skating history? You are in the right place!

Created in 2013, Skate Guard is a blog that focuses on overlooked and underappreciated areas of the history of figure skating, whether that means a topic completely unknown to most readers or a new look at a well-known skater, time period, or event. There's plenty to explore, so pour yourself a cup of coffee and get lost in the fascinating and fabulous history of everyone's favourite winter sport!

Interviews

From 2013 to 2015, Skate Guard regularly featured original interviews with elite level figure skaters, coaches, choreographers and many others directly involved in the figure skating community. From dozens of medallists at the Olympic Games and World Championships to national champions from around the world to professional stars, they are all in this diverse collection.

The directory is alphabetical by last name. In the case of pairs, ice dance or show act teams interviewed together, the last name of the first partner is used to determine where you will find them in a list. All interviews are standalone with the exception of names marked with a '*', which denote interview components with skaters that are not in a standalone format, ie. video interviews or interview questions as part of event reviews.
